Supply Chain

Accelerating the transition to renewable energy is central to reversing climate change. Thousands of companies act and are switching to renewables for their own electricity consumption. Recognising that emissions located in the supply chain are on average 5.5 times as high as those from direct operations, supply chain focus is increasing.

ECOHZ has developed a Supply Chain Portal for Renewable Energy. The portal enables companies to involve their suppliers through a simplified procurement process of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) across the GOREC and I-REC standards to match the regional electricity consumption.

Through the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) more than 500 companies have submitted their Science Based Targets to SBTi. The SBT criteria have increased focus on Scope 3 emissions, with specific requirements for companies with 40% or more of their value chain emissions in Scope 3. Typically, the bulk of these emissions are related to the supply chain, thus engaging with their suppliers becomes key to having SBTs approved and reaching the targets.

Changing Energy Behaviour – ECOHZ’ vision guides everything we do. Facilitating lower supply chain emissions for our existing and new customers adds weight to our commitment and accelerates our customers’ sustainability results.

The portal lowers barriers for companies to create impact rapidly. Now companies can invite their supply chain into a hassle-free procurement portal for renewable energy certificates.
