Clean energy can work for a good cause. This holiday season, we explore how renewables can build for peace and how we can include everyone in the energy transition.
Last year, instead of buying a Christmas present for our partners, we decided to put that money somewhere it would make a difference. We found Solar Aid for Ukraine, an initiative that uses solar panels to keep hospitals running despite attacks on energy infrastructure, and knew this was it.
Our donation helped to install rooftop solar panels that now serve over 200,000 patients annually. This Christmas, Ecohz is renewing its support. We are contributing again to this fantastic cause, harnessing the holiday spirit and clean energy and putting them where it matters.
Read the story below. Perhaps, like us, you will feel inspired to contribute and celebrate by helping people in Ukraine at a time of need.
Ecohz renews its support for Ukraine through solar energy
For the second time, Ecohz will make a Christmas donation to the Solar Aid for Ukraine programme. We talked to the people running the initiative to learn how solar panels are helping citizens and the climate.
Countries pledge to triple renewable energy capacity at COP28
In a major win at the climate conference, 130 countries pledged to increase clean energy capacity to 11 TW globally by 2030. Ecohz, along over 250 organisations, had previously called on world leaders to commit to that goal. The agreement constitutes a crucial step towards a 1.5°C future.
Thank you for being with us this year. We wish all of you the very best and that you enjoy a wonderful time with your nearest and dearest. We are here for you during the holiday period, and hope to see you in 2024!
