IPCC on Climate Change
3/19/2012
Changing energy behaviour patterns is an important way to increase energy efficiency and actively reduce pollution. Our focus on this area is a tangible action that follows the IPCC’s (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) recommendations.
The IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report - Increasing energy efficiency and reducing pollution confirms that global greenhouse gas emissions increased 70% between 1970 and 2004.
It is evident that obligations to renewable energy are an environmentally efficient way to meet emission targets, address climate change and promote sustainable development. It is estimated that renewable electricity could have a 30-35% share of total electricity supply by 2030.
The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) will provide an update of knowledge on the scientific, technical and socio-economic aspects of climate change. The Working Group (WG) Reports and Synthesis Report will be completed in 2013/2014.
