Run-of-River Origin
Run-of-River Origin means that the electricity is generated at power plants utilizing only the natural flow of rivers without additional reservoir or water storage.
This way of producing energy reduces the environmental problems linked to hydro reservoirs, but there are limited possibilites to adjust the production to changing demand. Production will therefore be part of the base-load in the electricity market.
ECOHZ has long-term agreements with the power plant owners, and can offer Run-of-River Origin as part of both short and long term agreements.
Run-of-River Origin is a product well suited for consumers that
prefer that their electricity is produced without water reservoirs
influencing the landscape and eco-system, and without possible
problems related to variations of water flow in a river system due
to variations in the use of stored water.
