GO with Bra Miljöval
Bra Miljöval (Good Environmental Choice) is a Swedish ecolabel established in 2002 and managed by Svenska Naturskyddsföreningen (The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation). The ecolabel provides strict criteria for environmental protection related to the operation of the power plants.
ECOHZ customers buying Guarantees of Origin with this product option are guaranteed that the renewable energy comes from power plants adhering to the label's standards.
Bra Miljöval's main content:
- Renewable energy from hydro, wind, sun and
bio
- Only hydro power plants built before January 1st,
1996
- A requirement for mini-tapping to avoid dry riverbeds
- No wind parks in areas designated as especially valuable
for birds and their natural habitat
- Biomarine production in non-protected areas respects flora
and fauna
- Reduced environmental impact from the generation of
electricity
- Stimulate transition from nuclear and fossil power generation to
renewable energy
- Prevent continued construction of hydroelectric plants
